McCaffery Interests acted as the pro bono developer to
build Link Unlimited’s new headquarters, with help from our
strategic partners, Antunovich Associates and W.E. O’Neil
Construction.
The headquarters site contains 35 parking spaces, a landscaped
outdoor seating area and a steel frame building with ~7,200 SF of
offices, classrooms, conference rooms, an auditorium, a cafeteria
and a green roof. The new headquarters are strategically located
in downtown Chicago at 2221 S. State Street with convenient access
for students from all areas of the city on nearby public
transportation.
Link Unlimited is a not-for-profit organization that provides
educational services and mentoring to low-income African American
youth from Chicago’s inner city by pairing them with civic-minded
professionals from the local business community who want to make a
real difference.
Since its inception in 1966, Link Unlimited has provided
services to more than 1400 individuals.
Students in the program consistently score above the local and
national averages for African Americans. Additionally, all
students in the past five years have completed their high school
education and enrolled in college.
The project was completed in July 2006.
