In a building other developers wanted to tear down, McCaffery saw great potential. Located in the heart of Chicago’s Magnificent Mile, McCaffery converted 669 North Michigan Avenue from a single-tenant department store into 90,000-square-feet of multiple street side retail shops. When the project was completed in 1992, it was home to the Midwest’s first and only NIKETOWN and a flagship Cole Haan, making it one of Michigan Avenues top tourist destinations.
