Mazza Gallerie

Located in the prominent Friendship Heights neighborhood of Washington, D.C., Mazza Gallerie originally opened in 1977 as a 300,000 square-foot enclosed fashion center anchored by Neiman Marcus. McCaffery Interests purchased the waning mall in 1997, with plans to redesign and renovate the property, making it more accessible to vehicular and pedestrian traffic on Wisconsin Avenue, the main street for both Chevy Chase and Friendship Heights.

The Revitalized Mazza Gallerie was updated with the addition of fine dining, eight luxury General Cinema theaters, and an array of lifestyle and fashion tenants. Catering to the 16,000 Metro customers who used the adjacent Friendship Heights station each day, the Metro level featured impulse items and hip, upbeat merchandise. On the first and second level, merchants including Neiman Marcus, a flagship Saks Fifth Avenue Men's Store, Williams-Sonoma, Ann Taylor, Pampillonia Jewelers, Harriet Kassman, Villeroy & Boch, and Chas Schwartz and Sons offered elegant lifestyle items and contemporary fashions.
